The Programming Contest Page, Fall 1997
- The ACM programming contest is here again! More information
at the
ACM contest
page. Students who are interested in participating in this
year's regional contest should contact
Ileana Streinu at
streinu@cs.smith.edu.
- As of September 8, 1997, 4 students have expressed interest.
- As of October 1, 1997, 9 students were interested in participating.
- When you send me email expressing your interest in participating in
the contest, I will put you on a mailing list and will send you more
information as it becomes available.
- In about 2 weeks, I intend to arrange a meeting with the
interested students, where you'll get to know each other and
start thinking about possible team participation.
Unfortunately, we are restricted to three team
members only.
- This is a team competition, not an individual one. Therefore it is
very important that you know each other and start practicing
problem solving
with team partners and not alone.
- Right now, there are two copies of practice problem sets from past
competitions, available in McConnell 104 and 209 (to be used only in those
rooms, please!). Feel free to stop by and look at the problems.
- There can only be one language per team, and we usually have gone
for C. This is what I intend to advise you to go for this year,
too.
If you see a strong reason why we should use a different
language, please
let me know.
- Please visit again for more information!
